About the event

In a constantly moving and ever more busy world, the demands placed on us by ourselves and the other people in our lives can often feel overwhelming and more than a little stressful.  We sometimes tend to forget to take time out for ourselves to reflect on the things that are actually most important to us and to think about how we can more effectively 'protect' our own time without feeling guilty or that we are being uncaring towards others.

Boundaries are the things that we establish to protect ourselves and keep ourselves safe; they also help us to tell others how we would like to be treated, and how we will treat other people.  They are not necessarily the big, heavy metaphorical walls that we build to keep people out; rather the clear and simple guidelines that help us better navigate the complex relationships that surround us all on a daily basis.

This three-hour reflective workshop intends to provide you with time and space to remind yourself about the important things in your life and how these link to the behaviours that other people see in you.  It will also give you the opportunity to think about the connections between your values, behaviours and boundaries and will encourage you to consider how you can better communicate your own boundaries with those around you in your quest to sustain positive and effective relationships in all aspects of your life.

Whether you are a leader wondering how you can be more effective at supporting your people; a business owner thinking about how to create and sustain lasting connections with your clients; a coach thinking about how you can better manage relationships with your people, athletes, their parents or guardians; or you are simply a curious individual wanting a few hours of guided reflection...this event is for you.

Ardoch Lodge is an idyllic retreat of 12 acres surrounded by spectacular scenery in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. It is a haven of tranquility, complete with its own walled garden, river access and neighbouring Queen Elizabeth Forest; the ideal space to reflect upon work, life, priorities and boundaries. Please stay a while after the workshop has finished to explore - a guided forest walk can be arranged, or simply relax in the peace of the walled garden.
