Authenticity and the 'Diamond' Principle
Being 'authentic' is easy, right? It is just 'being yourself'? Yet in reality 'being yourself' can often feel challenging and more than a little scary. Join me in this reflective space to consider what it really means to be authentic and how this will work for you.

About the event
Work on the inclusion and diversity agenda has highlighted the importance of individuals feeling able to 'be themselves' in any given environment in order to bring about a more open and welcoming world for all. The words 'authenticity' and 'vulnerability' are being used in our daily lives on a personal and professional level, as the drive to 'be yourself' or feel able to 'bring yourself to work' appears to be gaining pace. With positive mental health and wellbeing increasingly being linked to this ability to be authentic, show some vulnerability and not feel like you have to hide certain parts of our bio-psyco-social make-up, it does feel like it really is becoming OK to 'be yourself'.
Yet...
What does it actually mean to 'be yourself'? And how much of 'yourself' is appropriate to bring to particular situations?
This 60 minute reflective session will explore these questions, and more, through the lens of the 'diamond principle' to help you contemplate what it really means for you to be authentic. The session will also encourage you to think about 'what you want to reveal to who' in the various environments in your life and how you can make conscious choices about just how 'authentic' you really are.
